From Marrakech to the Zagora Desert

Day 1 Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate – Skoura –Rose Valley – Gorges of Dades

The departure will begin early in the morning, with a pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8 a.m. You will head toward the majestic High Atlas Mountains, where breathtaking panoramic views await. Several stops will be made along the way to admire the scenery and capture memorable photos. Passing through the Ounila Valley, you will arrive at the stunning Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the historic stronghold of the powerful Glaoui tribe. After a lunch break, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, where you will visit the famous film studios and the Kasbah Taourirt, the historic residence of the king of Marrakech and a symbol of power at the time.

Day 2 Gorges of dades – Gorges of Todra – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga

The day begins with a visit to the breathtaking Todra Gorges, a natural wonder that offers awe-inspiring views. Following this, we will make our way toward Merzouga, passing through the charming village of Tinjdad. A stop for lunch will allow you to relax before continuing the journey to Erfoud and Rissani, two villages rich in cultural heritage. In the afternoon, prepare for an unforgettable adventure: a two-hour camel ride into the heart of the Sahara Desert. As the sun sets over the golden dunes, the mesmerizing view will leave you in awe, creating memories that will last a lifetime. After the camel trek through the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi, standing up to 250 meters tall, you will arrive at the bivouac for an overnight stay. Enjoy a delicious dinner in a traditional nomadic tent, surrounded by the serene beauty of the desert.

Day 3 Day guided visit of Merzouga

After a restful night and a delicious traditional breakfast, you’ll be ready to explore the wonders of the region. The day begins with a visit to the Gnawa community, descendants of former slaves brought from Sudan. Here, you’ll discover their unique spiritual music and learn about their fascinating way of life. A short distance away, the Merzouga Lake awaits, offering a chance to observe its diverse bird population. The program also includes a visit to traditional nomadic homes, where you can browse unique handcrafted items often available at more affordable prices than in larger cities. In the afternoon, embark on an exciting camel ride through the mesmerizing sand dunes of Merzouga, led by an experienced guide. As the day winds down, enjoy a hearty dinner served in front of your tent, which is equipped with modern amenities such as a shower and WC, ensuring a comfortable overnight stay under the stars.

Day 4 Merzouga – Alnif – Tazarine – Nqob – Zagora

To fully experience the breathtaking sunrise, you’ll need to rise early the next morning. As the sun begins to illuminate the dunes, the colors shift beautifully, and the shadows dance across the landscape in ever-changing patterns, creating a scene so vivid it feels like watching high-definition television. The journey then continues through the stunning Draa Valley and the village of Tazarine, famously featured in the movie Babel. Don’t forget to capture these unforgettable vistas with your camera. By midday, we’ll arrive at N’Qob, where you can enjoy lunch in a restaurant offering panoramic views.

After a refreshing break, the adventure proceeds to Tansikht, taking you along the historic caravan route through the true heart of the Draa Valley. Here, you’ll witness towering palm groves and ancient villages steeped in history. By late afternoon, we’ll reach Zagora, where you’ll settle in for the night at a traditional Kasbah. In the evening, a camel ride of about an hour or more will offer you the chance to admire the sunset from multiple perspectives, each more captivating than the last. As night falls, immerse yourself in the enchanting rhythms of Saharan music, a celebration of diverse spiritual traditions. In one word: unforgettable.

Day 5 Zagora – Agdez – Ouarzazate – Marrakech.

A delightful traditional breakfast will await you at your hotel or Kasbah to start your day on a perfect note. Following this, we will journey toward the village of Agdez, where you’ll have the chance to explore the historic Tamnougalt Kasbah. From there, we continue our adventure, crossing the Tizi-n-Tinfifte pass, which rises to an altitude of 1,660 meters, offering stunning views along the way.

Upon reaching Ouarzazate, the trip takes an exciting turn as we venture off the beaten path. A scenic dirt track will lead us to the serene oasis of Fint, a hidden gem nestled between the mountains, offering a tranquil escape and breathtaking scenery.

As the day unfolds, we will head back to Marrakech, passing through the picturesque villages of Merzgane and Igherm, and crossing the famous Tichka Pass. Expect to arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, concluding your unforgettable journey.
